Where are all the shoppers?

What a slow week! My husband thinks that the slow sales are because we have a 3 day holiday weekend coming up. I'd like to hear some views on that, because I just can't make the connection. Any thoughts?

Yes! Usually a slow week for retail unless you sell sunblock, camping chairs, etc. This weekend is reserved for big box stores. BUT, you can get relatives visiting family that need something to do before they start grilling. Don't worry.
We been busy @ our shop cleaning, moving things around that gets us re-inspired. Hang in there...saw you featured on Elizabeth House!
Best Wishes,

We've been killer slow this week too....I've been asking around and it seems pretty universal in the with the antique biz owners. I think the gas prices have something to do with it. Hopefully it will pick up soon. Like Kara, we're using the time to add new stock and rearrange.

Thanks for the input! It helps to know if what you are experiencing is typical for retail in general. The gas prices must surely be making things worse on all of us!

I really don't recall being so.o.o.o slow! Everyone at the shop said it is like this every year...and that I just forgot because it is so painful! We just plant some flowers outside, rearrange furniture, and look forward to next week. ps. I really enjoy input from other shop owners. I haven't really been able to talk with many. I will check back often. Sue
